Neurorehabilitation involves several modalities, hands on techniques and sensory input to get the desired motor output (movement) to help your dog with acute conditions like IVDD to progressive conditions such as degenerative myelopathy.
Dog carts and mobility aides can promote independence and ease pain. Ensure you are getting the right devices for your pup and that they are properly fitted.

Once your dog’s injury has healed, we need to conditioning them again so that they may return to sport without risk of re-injury. We will work to get your dog in peak physical condition and address any medical issues that may be preventing peak performance.
Extra weight puts undue stress on your pup’s joints and impacts their comfort and ability to enjoy life. We can help devise a plan of care and exercise program appropriate for your dog’s current condition to promote a healthy body weight and lifestyle.
Creating a Customized Plan: Services Available
We begin with a rehabilitation assessment and then work with you to create a customized rehab plan that may include one or more of the following:
Laser Therapy is phototherapy using low intensity light energy to promote healing, and reduce pain and inflammation. By controlling the amount of light and how it is delivered into the tissue, we can influence biological processes taking place in living tissue to produce the desired therapeutic outcomes.
It is non-invasive, non-painful and has very few contradictions or side effects.
The use of an electrical current can simulate muscle tissues in the target area to facilitate a muscle contraction of a particular muscle or muscle group. We use this to help muscles get stronger after injury or surgery.
By using magnetic wavelengths and frequencies similar to those naturally occurring in the body and from the earth, PEMF is able to positively influence electrical potential in the cells and decrease Inflammation, increase circulation, reduce pain and accelerate healing. Our senior dogs and neuro dogs love laying on our PEMF mat during their treatments. We also have smaller units called Assisi Loops that dog parents can purchase to aid in their dog’s recovery at home.
Manual therapy encompassed any form of therapy that can be applied by the use of the therapist’s hands. Manual therapy can incorporate joint mobilization, manipulation, traction, soft tissue massage, myofascial release, and stretching. We utilize various soft tissue and joint mobilization techniques to mitigate pain and promote mobility. In addition, we teach you some of these techniques so you may help your dog at home.
